About

This is where I air my thoughts on politics and culture. The good, bad, the ugly.

I feel many involved – including us citizens – often:

  • Miss the point. We remember the general rule, but forget the reasons and subtleties.
  • Don’t try hard enough
  • Have blinding conflicts of interest

Guiding principles:

  • Care about people
  • Have patience for the details … that’s the only way to find the correct solution
  • The majority must fight for the rights, freedoms and fair treatment of others. Majorities don’t stay majorities for ever. We must enshrine and teach equal treatment for all, before the demographics shift.
  • Money is not the most important thing … McCain said it well in a recent interview with The Takeaway on Memorial Day 2017:

I worry a lot when [Secretarys of State] – not just this Secretary of State but others as well – believe that our only role in the world is to have dollars and cents, and profits and loss, and to only protect those interests that are in America’s interests. Well, if you believe that America’s interests are a selfish and narrow set of goals, then we are no different from any other nation. And nations rise and fall.
